2009 Opening Day Highlights

 

COACH'S COMMENTS

Cubs at Mets - 5/27/09

The Mets starter began the game strong retiring the first six Cubs by way of strikeouts before surrendering five runs in the third. After two and a half it was a close 7 to 5 with the Mets in the lead. After a couple of doubles, a single, and a few walks in the bottom half of the third it was all Mets as they win their sixth straight and visit the Phillies Saturday at 12:30. Of course the pregame begins a half hour before game time. ( alright, I just got carried away)

Final score The Mets 21 the visiting Cubs 7
In a make up (rain delayed) Minor League game on 5/14,
the Mets took the field very hungry for a win.
The second place Mets were there to avenge their only loss to the first place Pirates.
In a well played game by both teams, the Mets prevailed by a score of 13 - 2
and retook their first place position in the Minor League Standings.
What an exciting division.......GREAT JOB BY BOTH TEAMS!!!!!!

On Tuesday the 28th, in a nail biting ending, the Orioles beat the Blue Jays with a

late run in the 6th inning.  This brought the entire stands to the edge of their seats.

What an exciting game....

What a pitching duel....On Saturday's game between the Rangers and Orioles,

the pitchers on both teams stymied the opposing batters with 15 strikeouts each.

 Despite the great pitching on the part of the Orioles,

the Rangers prevailed with a 2-0, 1 hit victory.

Great job by both teams!!!

Red Sox and White Sox were tight until the 6th....Red Sox broke it open in the 7th.....Great Job!!!!!
8 Year Old Slammer -  A Tigers player blasted one over the fence.......Great Job!!!!
